Hochul Gave No-bid Contract to Major Donor

Government corruption is what feeds this country’s political system.

It is blatant and it is saturating.

The latest example being a contract awarded by NY Governor Hochul to a major donor.

Pay-to-Play

N.J.-based Digital Gadgets is tied to nearly $300,000 in donations to Hochul’s campaign.

This also happens to be the same company that was awarded a no-bid contract for COVID test kits.

The state paid as much as $13 per unit, more than double what other vendors were charging.

The no-bid contract was worth an estimated $637 million.

Normally, I would not even care because it would be state money paying this tab and I do not live in New York.

That is not the case here because the money that likely paid for these kits came from relief funds from federal taxpayer money.

John Kaehny, of the good-government group Reinvent Albany, stated, “Whether it was pay-to-play or total incompetence – New York taxpayers and then the federal taxpayers got massively ripped off.”

Republican Assembly Minority Leader William Barclay stated, “At the very least, the public deserves a hearing to address how this deal was arranged, why it lacked a formal contract, and the seemingly questionable timing of relevant communications.”

This is far from the first time Hochul has paid off a major donor.

For instance, after donating $68,700 to her campaign in December, Steve Roth, the head of Vornado Realty Trust, his company was given more than $1 billion in tax breaks.

That is a trade-off I think most of us would take all day long.

When you look at how Democrats slam Republicans for tax breaks, it brings even more scrutiny to the deal.

One more… the president of Medical Answering Surveys gave $52,600 to Hochul’s campaign, and she in turn gave them millions in state Medicaid business.

This is corruption to the Nth degree, yet this woman has a monstrous lead against Lee Zeldin in the latest polling.

This woman is up to her eyeballs in corruption, yet people vote for her simply because she has a D next to her name.
