Hawaii Rejects Second Amendment Rights for Its Citizens

The Second Amendment has always been a polarizing issue in this country.

For decades now, Democrats have been trying to chip away at its powers, and Hawaii has now all but thrown it into the shredder.

The state’s Supreme Court has overturned a lower court ruling that has many people wondering if there are activists on the court or actual jurists as well as if Hawaii even wants to be part of the United States.

No Second Amendment Here

Christopher Wilson was arrested for violating state gun laws when he was found in possession of a handgun that was loaded with a 10-round magazine.

While Wilson maintained that the gun was for self-defense, the state said he did not have the proper permits and had broken the law.

A lower court ruled that the arrest violated Wilson’s Second Amendment rights, but the state Supreme Court did not agree.

The Court concluded, "We reject Wilson's constitutional challenges. Conventional interpretive modalities and Hawaiʻi's historical tradition of firearm regulation rule out an individual right to keep and bear arms under the Hawaiʻi Constitution.

“In Hawaiʻi, there is no state constitutional right to carry a firearm in public."’

Wilson’s attorney, Benjamin Lowenthal, responded, "There is a lot to go through in the Court's opinion and analysis. My colleagues and I are still studying it, taking stock of our options, and are working on what is best for Mr. Wilson."

Gun rights attorney Kostas Moore blew up the decision on X…

Now, that is only one post, but I recommend you read his entire thread on this subject to get some real background on this issue, specifically in Hawaii.

When reading through the entire ruling by the state Supreme Court, it seems pretty clear that Hawaii does not consider itself a part of the United States, nor does it respect our Constitution, literally cracking a joke about it in the ruling.
