Harry Connick Sr., Father of Famous Singer, Dead at 97

Tragedy has struck the family of world-famous singer and actor, Harry Connick Jr.

It has been reported that the star of hit films like Hope Floats and Memphis Belle is grieving the death of his father, Harry Connick Sr.

Harry Connick Sr. passed away at the age of 97, with his son by his side.

Harry Connick Sr. was also surrounded by his daughter Suzanna, and his wife, Londa.

While his cause of death has not been confirmed, family members have shared with the public that he passed away “peacefully.”

We do know from past posts on social media that Harry Connick Jr. had a close relationship with his father.

Just months ago, Harry Connick Jr. wrote on social media recently describing an inside look at their relationship.

“Hangin' with my dad - my FAVORITE thing in the world! i come to see him about once a month in new orleans and it's still not enough! at 97, he continues to be my hero and inspiration... i love you sooooo much, dad!!!” Connick Jr. wrote.

It is never easy to lose a parent, no matter how old they are or how peaceful their passing was.

We pray for Harry Connick Jr., who is no doubt grieving a painful loss at this time.

Harry Connick Sr. led a life he should be proud of.

He raised a world-famous musician and actor who looked up to him until the end. He had a successful career as a longtime district attorney in New Orleans. He lived nearly to 100!

That is more than most have to show for the time they spent on earth.
