Harry and Meghan Foundation Delinquent in Bills

There would appear to be a problem in the Royal Fantasyland.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have more or less had their foundation shut down, at least for now.

The reason being that the charity has let its registration fees expire.

Cease and Desist

According to reports, Harry and Meghan have lapsed on payments for the Archewell Foundation, which is based in California.

Harry left the fame and fortune of the Royals behind to try to cash in over here, but they don’t seem to be able to keep their books straight.

The charity was ordered to immediately cease its fundraising until it gets its bills all caught up.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued a letter informing them of their delinquency.

The letter reportedly stated, “An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds.

“The organization may also be subject to penalties and its registration may be suspended or revoked by the Registry.”

In addition to the fees, the Royal couple will also have to pay penalties for being late before they can start fundraising again.

The foundation has had a tough go of it, seeing an $11 million drop in donations last year, while they have also lost their Spotify podcasting deal worth $20 million.

Upon canceling the deal, Bill Simmons, Spotify executive and The Ringer founder, called them both “grifters.”

Harry was also recently snubbed by King Chuck, who appointed Prince William to a key military post that Harry apparently felt he had dibs on because he has served with the unit in Afghanistan.

I think they are finding out rather quickly that the fascination with the Royal family in this country only goes so far as those actually wearing the crown.

Even that baffles me considering the history between the two countries.

Even though we are allies now, I personally have zero interest in anything related to the crown, as I am sure our Founding Fathers would approve.
