Harris Out, Jeffries In
I think everyone on the left would agree that this election was a complete and utter debacle.
Democrats stole the nomination from Biden and gifted it to Harris, and Karma eventually caught up with them.
While there are already reports that Harris is considering a 2028 run, the party could have something different to say about that.
Next Man Up
Who will be the next man up? That is the question that needs to be answered for the Democrat Party.
Harris had her shot in 2020, and it was clear the American people did not like her.
She tried again after having the nomination gifted to her, and she failed miserably, handing the GOP its greatest win in decades.
Harris may think she is the future of the party, and while I think the Dems will definitely want a minority in the race, it is unlikely to be Harris that gets the support of the party itself.
Party insiders want to know where they go from here, and that answer may be to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.).
Brett Bruen, a former Obama official, recently offering his two cents on the matter.
He stated, “Hakeem Jeffries, if he is able to ascend to the speakership, is the clear next leader.”
Well, that will not happen in 2024, but history tells us that Dems are likely to take the House in 2026, which would elevate Jeffries to Speaker, making him the most influential Democrat in the Party.
There are a lot of stigmas Harris would have to overcome, especially if we find absolute proof she was helping to cover up Biden’s cognitive decline.
For the Democrat Party to move forward, it will have to move away from all things Biden and Harris, so tapping Jeffries makes sense, but is he the right person for the job?
I think if Dems are going to come back from this, they are going to have to move more to the middle, and that is not Jeffries.
But again, it all depends on how successful Donald Trump will be over the next two years.
