Harris Making Last-minute Request for Debate Rule Changes

After Kamala Harris was unconstitutionally gifted the Democrat nominee for the presidential ticket in 2024, she stated that she would honor the debates that Biden had previously agreed to.

Trump was hoping to add a third debate on Fox News, but Harris ruled out doing anything on Fox News, so Trump wound up agreeing to her terms.

Now, with the debate only two weeks away, Harris is trying to change the debate rules that she has already agreed to abide by.

Changing the Rules

The debate, which is scheduled for September 10, will be on ABC News.

Harris is now asking for an unmuted microphone, with a Harris ally stating, “She’s more than happy to have exchanges with him if he tries to interrupt her.

“And given how shook he seems by her, he’s very prone to having intemperate outbursts and … I think the campaign would want viewers to hear [that].”

According to the report, her campaign also asked for the candidates to be seated, allowing notes, and having an opening statement.

The Trump campaign responded, “Enough with the games. We accepted the ABC debate under the exact same terms as the CNN debate.

“The Harris camp, after having already agreed to the CNN rules, asked for a seated debate, with notes, and opening statements. We said no changes to the agreed upon rules.

“If Kamala Harris isn’t smart enough to repeat the messaging points her handlers want her to memorize, that’s their problem.

“This seems to be a pattern for the Harris campaign. They won’t allow Harris to do interviews, they won’t allow her to do press conferences, and now they want to give her a cheat-sheet for the debate.”

While I was skeptical of the CNN rules at first, I have to admit, that was the best debate held so far this election cycle.

Nothing makes a debate worse than candidates talking over each other and while Harris is saying they want this to lure Trump into a shouting contest, I believe it is so that Harris can attack Trump while he is answering questions to knock him off his game.

Regardless, I love the idea of the microphones being muted so we can hear what each candidate has to say without interruption, then allow the other candidate to respond without being interrupted.

If I were Trump, I would fight to keep the microphones muted, as had been previously agreed to.
