Harris Has Dodged the Media for Nearly 3 Months
It has now been 80 days since Kamala Harris was gifted the Democrat nomination from Joe Biden.
She did a press conference on the day it happened, but has been radio silent ever since.
She has done a handful of softball interviews, the debate, and a “60 Minutes” interview which appears to be heavily edited, but she has not directly faced off against the media.
In Hiding
Harris appears to be employing Joe Biden’s strategy from 2020… hideout and hope for the best.
Harris has refused to do any hostile interviews, she has refused press conferences, and she avoids talking to the media on the tarmac and at major events.
Even in her role as VP, she has just walked off the podium after events where questions would normally be taken.
Yet, she drank beer on TV with Stephen Colbert, she was gushed by Howard Stern, and told how wonderful she was on “The View.”
She did do a debate, but moderators coddled her through while putting Trump through the wringer.
Conservative Radio Libre host Jorge Bonilla commented on the free pass that Harris is getting from the media, stating, "She is highly unlikely to do a press conference because the media have enabled and encouraged her ‘plexiglass basement’ strategy, wherein she preserves the illusion of being out there while remaining wholly inaccessible to the press and therefore unaccountable.”
When Harris has talked to the media or done a town hall, she never really answers the question.
She keeps leaning into her fictional middle-class upbringing and rambles on until people get tired of hearing her.
And right now, there are numerous allegations about her husband beating a woman and hostile office behavior, but the media has yet to get her on camera to talk about it.
Considering her comments during the Kavanaugh hearings, we need to hear from her on this but don’t expect that to happen anytime soon.
That would mean the media would actually be doing its job, but it is state-run media now, so the only attacks will be on Donald Trump.
