Harris ‘Dating’ Campaign Ad Backfires Among Black Men
Kamala Harris is desperately trying to bring young black male voters back into the fold.
Currently, Harris is about +40 in this demographic, which may sound like a lot, but it is roughly half of the margin that Obama had when he ran for office.
Recently, Harris ran a “dating” ad to pressure black me to vote for her, but that has also backfired, with that demographic calling the ad “insulting.”
Insulting
In an effort to get young black men to support her campaign, Harris enlisted Barack Obama.
Obama was caught on video black-shaming young men, calling them out as sexist and saying they should vote for Harris solely because she is black.
That backfired, as most men were outraged that they should be voting for someone solely because she is black and not for her record and agenda.
Then a pro-Harris group ran an add that “real men” that hinted that if you were a real man, you would not be afraid to vote for Harris, a woman, for president.
That, too, backfired.
Now Harris is running this ad…

The ad was created by Brian McBride, who serves as Harris’ Deputy Director of Creative Strategy.
After the video went live, negative comments were flowing.
For instance, one person wrote, “Their audience is mostly women and teenagers. So how will this convince black men to vote if this doesn’t target them and instead shames them which is also not a good persuasion method?”
Another stated, “Did Trump make these? Because this doesn’t help Kamala.”
Another far more direct comment stated, “‘Vote or no [sex] for you’ is quite the sales pitch. Deeply insulting to black men.”
He pretty much said the quiet part out loud in that one, but quite a few people perceived the video skit in that manner.
McBride now appears to be monitoring the comments to hide negative ones and only show positive ones on the ad.
Here is a little piece of advice for Harris…
If you want to know how to connect with this demographic, you may want to actually go out and personally talk to them to see what they find important because allowing the woke members of your campaign to shame them into supporting you is clearly not working.
