Harris Cringe Ad Was Staffed with Actors
Last week, the internet was blowing up over an ad themed “Man Enough” that was put out by a pro-Harris group, produced by the former producer for Jimmy Kimmel.
The ad featured what I guess Harris thought would appear to be tough guys and southerners, who all claimed they were “man enough” to vote for Harris.
Well, it turns out they could not find any real men to make the ad, so they had to hire actors, who, by the way, did not do a very good job of convincing anyone.
Not Man Enough
The main characters of the ad were a buff black man, an overweight sloppy tough guy in a cowboy hat, an old bearded white guy, and someone that I am thinking was supposed to be a farmer.
At one point, the obese cowboy claims that he “eats carburetors for breakfast,” which I am assuming is along with the pound of sausage, dozen eggs, and loaf of bread.
They claim they are not “afraid of bears” and not afraid to have a woman as president.
The ad is both cringe and laughable, but judge for yourself…
If you were to look the ad up on YouTube, it explains that the men in the ad are all paid actors.
Claremont Institute fellow David Reaboi observed, "Must-see Kamala ad.
"Not only do they have no idea how actual men speak, they couldn’t find any convincing male actors."
The “men” in the ad were identified as Winston Carter, Chris Gibson, Lanre Idewu, Tony Ketcham, Mike Leffingwell, and Wayland McQueen.
I can see why they have resorted to doing political ads because their skills are not exactly refined and worthy of the big screen.
Now, some of those actors have comedy training, which makes more sense because that ad is a complete and utter joke.
X users blasted the ad, with one stating, "The campaign is so fake, they even have to fake the fake enthusiasm. They’re so bad at this. Do they honestly not know that The Google exists? Wow.”
Jacob Reed was the mastermind behind the ad, having previously directed Kimmel and “Funny or Die.”
I think I will opt for “die” here.
As a side note, on a Substack post, he added, "With the rise of role models like Tim Walz and Doug Emhoff on the national stage, I think the left is finally finding its footing on how to talk about masculinity — I think we’re overdue for a redefinition of what it means to be a man in America and I hope this campaign can start to shape that conversation.
“Because even though it’s more sketch comedy than political ad, what these men are saying is true – except being afraid of bears. A bear will straight-up kill you.”
If Tim Walz and Doug Emhoff are the modern examples of masculinity, it does not bode well for our future.
