Harris Cashing in on VP Status

Kamala Harris’ financial disclosure forms are in and they are telling quite the story about the VP cashing in on her position.

Harris had a stack of gifts on the forms, including some pricey tickets to see Beyonce.

It also showed the income from her books, which were almost laughable.

Cashing In

It if were up to me, politicians and judges would be forbidden from accepting any free gifts.

You do that job to serve, not to cash in, but that is clearly a discussion for another day.

Harris, however, has not been shy about taking gifts on the cuff, especially to events.

Harris had posted about the Beyonce concert, but nobody realized that the tickets, valued at nearly $1,700 were a gift.

She also received tickets valued at $1,890 from ESPN to attend the December 2023 Cricket Celebration Bowl game in Atlanta.

Also on the form were Harris’ royalties from her children’s book, “Superheroes are Everywhere,” and her memoir, “The Truths We Told.”

Harris brought in $8,254 from the children’s book, which is pretty pitiful, but that was nothing compared to her memoir, which only brought in $234.13, which is probably about a dozen or so books sold for the entire year.

Back to the idea of free gifts for politicians…

This is how people gain influence, as we often see with lobbyists who will give politicians free trips and tickets to get their ear to influence policy.

The day this became legal is the day that our system started to become corrupt. Just because it is being reported does not mean it is okay.

As I have stated probably thousands of times by now, these are the people our politicians are working for because it surely is not We the People.

And you know it will never be cleaned up because the very people getting all the freebies would have to pass legislation to stop it all.
