Harris Campaign Staff Frustrated ‘Band of Idiots’
With only two weeks to go before the election, the wheels appear to be falling off the Kamala Harris campaign machine.
Her campaign hit the ground running, handed a big lead, and it has been going backward ever since.
The campaign has been criticized highly, and campaign staffers are feeling the heat. They are reportedly growing very frustrated over the criticism and decisions they have to make heading down this final stretch.
Getting Frustrated
The Harris team has been getting blasted for how much ground she has lost during this very brief campaign.
It seems pretty clear that if Kamala Harris had been the Democratic nominee from the start of this campaign cycle, she'd be trailing by even more.
As it is, she has lost her rather convincing national lead, and just about every battleground state, where she once had leads over 3%, is now in a toss-up, or Trump is ahead.
Obama 2012 campaign manager Jim Messina recently commented on the state of the campaign and the fact that time is running out for them.
He stated, "[I]n politics you have three things: you have time, you have money, and you have volunteers.
"And the one thing of those three you can’t go get more of is time. So there’s really difficult decisions being made in Wilmington right now about what you do with her time, what you do with the surrogates' time.
"[T]he press team wants her on these TV interviews, the fundraising team wants her to do one more big event in X city. The battleground states are saying, ‘We’ve gotta have her three more times in Michigan.’ And so making those decisions becomes the most important thing.
"It’s why you see these campaign people on TV and they look absolutely exhausted, because everyone is telling them they’re a band of idiots, and they should do it their way, and they have to make really, really difficult decisions.”
The Harris team really dropped the ball early on by keeping Harris hidden, as was apparent after her Fox News interview with Bret Baier.
Harris had been protected, sticking with friendly interviews up until that interview, while Trump and Vance have interviewed with anyone willing to put a microphone in their face.
Harris, however, does not do well with confrontation, while Trump thrives on it, and Vance is very good at dismantling attacks.
They did her no favors, so it's no wonder people are calling her staff a bunch of idiots. They are frustrated and now at the brink.
