Harris Accepts VP Debate Without Knowing Opponent
Kamala Harris is getting adventurous in her old age.
Harris has reportedly agreed to a vice presidential debate, even though Donald Trump is not expected to announce his running mate until the July convention.
Harris accepted the CBS News invite for the debate, which is currently looking at July 23 or August 13 as the dates for the debate.
Doesn’t Matter
This is a really bold move because, in all honesty, Trump may have already told the person that he is going to pick.
Just because the name has not been officially announced does not mean that Trump has not made up his mind.
The only reason we don’t already know is that Trump is likely using this to steal a news cycle that is getting away from him
Over the last year, the man has been masterful at killing any news cycle that gives anyone else momentum, and this is easily one of the bigger stories of the election, aside from Trump’s trials.
When Trump was asked about announcing his VP recently, he stated, “I don’t say anything is 100%, but you’re getting pretty close.
“I’ll be doing it in Milwaukee. We’re going to have a great time.”
The national convention for the GOP starts on July 15.
Like Joe Biden’s debates, the VP debate is unlikely to have a live audience, as it appears that the DNC is looking to reduce hecklers and protesters against this administration.
Getting back to Kamala accepting the blind invitation, she may not have much longer than a week to prepare herself for this, which is what astonishes me: she agreed to this without a candidate.
On the other hand, if Trump’s VP already knows, he or she gets the running start against Kamala.
Regardless, I don’t expect this to be a ratings monster. At least, it will not even come close to what we will see when Biden and Trump square off for their debates.
