Mayorkas Has Not Yet Fired Hamas-Supporting Asylum Agent

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Mayorkas came under considerable fire this week while appearing before committee.

Mayorkas was livid over the line of questioning taken by Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO).

Mayorkas called his questioning “despicable,” but it was the fact that Mayorkas refused to answer the questions that was despicable.

Answer the Question

DHS immigration officer Nejwa Ali is among the agents tasked with vetting migrants coming into this country.

After the Hamas invasion of Israel, Ali made pro-Hamas and pro-Palestinian posts on her social media accounts.

Reports stated that she had been put on leave, but she had not been terminated, and Senator Hawley rightfully wanted to know why.

Hawley showed some of the posts, reading their captions, stating, “What about people who say things like, on October 7, ‘F*** Israel, the government and its military, are you ready for your downfall.’ People who say things like, ‘F*** Israel and any Jew who supports Israel. May your conscience haunt your dreams until your last breath, Palestine will be free one day, f*** apartheid Israel and any Israeli.’ This is pretty extreme rhetoric, don’t you think?”

Mayorkas responded, “I do and I think there is a distinction between espousing or endorsing terrorist ideology and speech that is odious that does not rise to that level.”

When Hawley asked why this staffer was not fired, things got really interesting…

After that video cut off, Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) actually demanded that Mayorkas answer the question.

He finally responded, “That individual has been placed on administrative leave.”

Hawley then responded, “So she’s not been fired. Why has she not been fired?”

Mayorkas, in typical fashion, pointed to the fact that she was hired in 2019, basically putting this on Trump. While the Trump administration is not without fault for not having properly vetted this woman, who we found out previously worked for the PLO, Mayorkas should have fired her on the spot for these posts, period.

The back and forth continued, with Hawley going off one more time, stating, “You know about this. I can't believe you come to this committee hearing, you know all about this, and say it’s wrong of me to ask the question. I think your performance is despicable and the fact that you are not willing to provide answers to this committee is absolutely atrocious.”

This man is a disgrace, and the idea he leaned into the fact that his parents were Holocaust survivors only makes it more despicable. As if that is supposed to give him more leeway for allowing a terrorist supporter to exist within our government?

Mayorkas is a dangerous man, and every Republican who voted to confirm him needs to answer for this. And just in case you were curious who they were:

  • Senator Shelley Capito (R-W.V.)
  • Senator Susan Collins (R-ME)
  • Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)
  • Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK)
  • Senator Rob Portman (R-OH)
  • Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT)

Portman is no longer in office and Romney is retiring, but those other four need to be held accountable for allowing this monster into our government.
