Haley Endorses Donald Trump for President

We have all been waiting for Nikki Haley to say who she would be voting for in the election.

Virtually every other candidate, including Ron DeSantis, backed Trump when they left the race, but Haley decided to reserve her endorsement.

That changed this week when Haley gave Trump her lackluster endorsement.

Choosing Trump

Haley broke her silence on the matter on Wednesday during a speech at the Hudson Institute.

She stated, “I put my priorities on a president who’s gonna have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account.

“Who would secure the border, no more excuses. A president who would support capitalism and freedom. A president who understands we need less debt, not more debt.

“Trump has not been perfect on these policies, I’ve made that clear. Many, many times, but Biden has been a catastrophe. So, I will be voting for Trump.”

She later added, “Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me.

“And, not assume that they are just gonna be with him and I genuinely hope he does that.”

She was pointing to comments made by Trump last week when he was asked about Haley's supporters, and Trump nonchalantly waved off the concern, insisting that her supporters would wind up supporting him.

I have echoed Haley’s sentiment many times regarding Haley and DeSantis supporters.

Both groups felt highly insulted by Trump’s attacks against their candidates, more so DeSantis than Haley.

Trump, to this point, has done nothing to draw them in, simply assuming that when push comes to shove, those voters will pull the handle for him.

I have predicted that we will see more down-ballot voting for Republicans than presidential votes for this reason.

In an election that was already a coin flip, I think Trump should do whatever he can to attract those voters into his camp because time is running out, and their sentiment on social media has not yet changed.
