Haitian Group Wants Trump and Vance Arrested for Pet-eating Story

And so, it begins…

You just knew that after Trump started talking about people eating pets during the debate, that would not be the end of it.

To that point, a Haitian group is hoping to have a warrant issued for the arrest of Trump and Vance.

Charge Them

Tuesday night, the buzz started regarding a complaint by the Haitian Bridge Alliance.

The group has filed charges against Trump and Vance for their claims about Haitians eating cats and stealing geese from a public park in Springfield, OH.

Vance started the rumor, saying that he had received multiple calls from constituents that their pets were being stolen and eaten by Haitian migrants.

After Vance made the claim, local officials denied they have received any such complaints, and Vance eventually walked the comments back, sort of, saying they may not be true.

During a later interview, Vance even conceded that he would make up stories if need be to get the media to cover the immigration issues in this country.

Well, the Haitians are upset they were singled out, and now they are filing a rare, but not unprecedented, private citizen’s right to file charges.

This is not something that happens often in Ohio, but it has happened before.

Per state law, a hearing will have to be held before the affidavit can move forward. The two men are being charged with disrupting public services, making false alarms, telecommunications harassment, aggravated menacing, and complicity.

Subodh Chandra of the Cleveland-based Chandra Law Firm, stated, “Their persistence and relentlessness, even in the face of the governor and the mayor saying this is false, that shows intent.

“It’s knowing, willful flouting of criminal law.”

This is just one more legal issue in a long line of them that Trump will have to overcome if he expects to win this presidential election.

I honestly could not believe Trump brought this up during the debate, knowing it was a mistake at the time, but I never anticipated a suit being filed.
