If you have not yet heard about the mass shooting that took place on Saturday in California, you are not alone.
At first, some Democrat politicians jumped all over the shooting, getting ready to blame it on a right-wing nutjob.
Then they found out who the shooter was, and suddenly the story just went away.
Shooter Identified
The shooter, as it turns out, was Huu Can Tran, a 72-year-old Asian man.
Tran was identified as the shooter about half an hour after the mass shooting after turning his gun on himself.
He was found in a van that was the same van seen at the scene of the shooting.
The police had the van surrounded, and upon entering the van, found several pieces of evidence, including a handgun that linked Tran to the shooting.
Tran had entered the Star Ballroom Dance Studio and opened fire. Five men and five women were killed, with another 10 people wounded.
According to police, Tran had made an attempt at another club and failed about 30 minutes later.
He entered the Lai Lai Ballroom in Alhambra, but some patrons managed to wrestle the gun away from him, and Tran fled the scene.
The area where the shooting occurred is mostly populated with Asian immigrants from China or first-generation Asian Americans.
Exactly why Tran went to these dance studios and opened fire is a mystery at this point, but authorities have hinted that it may have started over some type of domestic dispute.
Congresswoman Jude Chu stated, "I still have questions in my mind, which is: What was the motive for the shooter? Did he have a mental illness? Was he a domestic violence abuser? How did he get these guns and was it through legal means or not?"
Two top Democrats jumped the gun after the shooting to blame bigotry and hatred, clearly looking to tag the right with this shooting…
I'm heartbroken by the news of the shooting in Monterey Park amid Lunar New Year celebrations
I'm praying for the victims, their families, the 1st responders
We must stand up to bigotry and hate wherever they rear their ugly heads, and we must keep working to stop gun violence

Ten dead in Monterey Park. I am sickened.
A horrific example of needless gun violence. With bigotry toward AAPI individuals as a possible motive.
The families are in my prayers as we seek information by law enforcement.
We’ll never quit demanding real action on gun safety.

Wisconsin State Rep. Francesca Hong issued something similar…
Heart is beyond heavy for the victims and their loved ones.
Lunar New Year is a time of togetherness, celebration and love.
This tragedy is beyond hate.
We are broken as a nation to have mass shootings and white supremacy reign terror. Our community is shattered. https://t.co/S6Omoj10Qt

At some point, Democrats are going to learn to stop jumping the gun on these accusations, but they all want to be the first to express outrage so they can tout their response to gain some political points.
Don't expect an apology anytime soon.
