Gov. Kristi Noem Says She Will Support Trump Even If Convicted

In most polling right now, Donald Trump is beating Joe Biden nationally as well as in the key battleground states, which are far more important, if you ask me.

However, polling also says that if Donald Trump is convicted of a felony, he will lose a considerable block of his support, more if he is sentenced to jail.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is now trying to calm those fears, voicing her support of Trump even if he winds up getting convicted.

I Support Him No Matter What

This is an idea that high-profile Republicans are going to have to start to openly support even though it goes against everything the party has been pushing on the law and order front.

That, however, is the danger when you have your presidential candidate facing four different felony cases.

If Trump is convicted, polling would suggest that he will lose about 30% of his support, which goes up a tick or two if he is sentenced to jail.

The GOP now has no choice but to push the narrative that all of these cases have been politicized and that Trump did nothing wrong.

That is the only way they can validate going from a law and order agenda to support a presidential candidate who has been convicted.

Governor Noem, a top candidate for Trump’s vice president, made it clear where she stands on this issue.

She stated, “If my choice is between Joe Biden and Donald Trump every single day of the week, yes, I will support Donald Trump. I have from the very beginning. He has been someone that I have supported since 2016.

“I recognized that he didn’t think he was better than anybody else in this country. He wanted to go run for this office so he could serve the people here and fight for them every single day.”

These trials are a complete and utter nightmare for Trump, who has lost his ability to attack Joe Biden as a criminal and corrupt.

Every time he or his surrogates attempt to launch an attack on this front, Trump is hit back with a full listing of the dozens of federal felony indictments he faces.

If Trump does not beat every one of these cases, yes, I am concerned about how the GOP will fair because they need every conservative voter at the voting booths come November. If they fall short on turnout, it will not bode well not only for Trump but also for the down-ballot tickets.
