Ukraine has received nearly $20 billion in aid from the United States since the war with Russia broke out.
As is typical of our government, there has been almost no oversight on the aid that has been sent out.
The Republican Party has warned the administration that once it comes into power, it wants an audit of all aid, which has sent the White House scrambling.
Irresponsible
To this point, Zelensky has been using the United States like an open shopping cart.
He presents a list, we fill it, see you later. According to reports, this administration only knows where roughly 10 percent of the aid is or where it has been used.
This is not only a GOP effort, however.
Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) stated, "The taxpayers deserve to know that investment is going where it's intended to go. In any war, there can be missteps and misallocation of supplies."
U.K. Parliament member Tobias Ellwood is now nervous that the United States may start pulling back on this blank check that Zelensky now has.
He stated, "You'd be playing into Putin's hands. If America pulls back, Putin could snatch victory from the jaws of defeat."
Well, then, how about the UK and other NATO countries start bucking up more than they have been?
According to Statista.com, the United States has ponied up $27.4 billion overall, while the UK has only sent $3.71 billion.
In fact, Joe is so dead set on being the hero, the United States' contribution is triple the contribution of ALL other nations COMBINED.
Ironically, while Ukraine falling would be detrimental to the United States, it would be far worse for European NATO nations, yet they are waiting on us to cut the check, even though our country is swimming in debt.
No, I say cut the faucet and force these other countries to start playing catch up to the amount of cash the United States has already spent.
