GOP Set to File Mayorkas Impeachment After Speaker Elected

After the first day of voting, the GOP has been unable to come to terms for a Speaker of the House.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) failed on three straight votes, losing an additional vote in the third round, with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) being the beneficiary.

If and when they do finally come to an agreement, one of the first measures of business will be to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas.

Time To Go

So, we all know that Senator Schumer (D-N.Y.) will never allow this to get anywhere in the Senate, but it has to be done.

If not for anything else, the American people who refuse to watch anything but MSNBC need to know what this man has done to our border.

Rep. Fallon (R-TX) is leading this charge to have Mayorkas impeached.

Fallon stated, "Since day one, Secretary Mayorkas's policies have undermined law enforcement activities at our southern border.

"From perjuring himself before Congress about maintaining operational control of the border to the infamous 'whip-gate' slander against our border patrol agents, Secretary Mayorkas has proven time and time again that he is unfit to lead the Department of Homeland Security."

In all, Fallon is presenting three articles. I do not believe any of them are in question.

The first article finds him in breach of his duty that "requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to "maintain operational control over the entire international land and maritime borders of the United States."

The second article stated that DHS Secretary is "in violation of his constitutional oath, willfully provided perjurious, false, and misleading testimony to Congress."

The third article addresses the #WhipGate scandal, claiming that Mayorkas "publicly and falsely slandered" border agents who were falsely accused of whipping Haitian migrants in Del Rio, Texas, in 2021.

Again, there is no doubt in my mind he is guilty of all three of those charges.

I generally hate legislation that is presented with no chance of passing, but this is one of those times I support the effort even though it will die in the Senate.

As states above, at the very least, it will bring his violations out of the shadows.
