GOP REPORT: Biden Administration Obstructing Investigations
For an administration that claimed to be the most transparent in modern history, the Biden administration is failing on every front.
Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) has been trying to dig into reports of child exploitation and trafficking, but the committee keeps hitting roadblocks.
According to Cassidy, the White House is stonewalling numerous investigations on this front.
We Need to Know
Various states and congressional committees have been trying to look into allegations regarding the abuse of migrant children during this administration.
However, the investigators are being stonewalled at every turn.
Cassidy’s report stated, “When Ranking Member Cassidy attempted to hold the Biden-Harris administration accountable, the administration made every effort to cover its failures up and to stonewall each new oversight effort — a course of action that continues today.
“The administration also refuses to comply with state-level efforts to investigate and prevent the trafficking and exploitation of [unaccompanied children] caused by its own weak sponsor vetting policies and the chaos.”
Cassidy goes on to claim that his office has submitted numerous letters to Health and Human Services (HHS) on this subject, oftentimes with no response at all.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is an example of a state investigation being blocked on this matter.
According to the report, after DeSantis found proof of sexually exploited migrant children, as well as cases where they were being used to smuggle weapons or drugs, HHS “refused” to answer subpoenas, nor would it provide the requested documentation to the grand jury.
The report continued, “Similarly, state officials in Virginia have sounded the alarm over ORR’s refusal to share information with law enforcement who are investigating cases of trafficking and abuse.”
After releasing the report, Cassidy stated, “The exploitation of unaccompanied children has been documented for years.
“The Biden-Harris administration should have fixed its policies to protect these children, but instead it subverted Congress and states to cover up its mistakes.
“This lack of transparency to the American people is reprehensible. It is hard to see this as anything other than an attempt to shield the Biden-Harris administration from accountability.”
At this point, the Biden administration will continue covering everything up, so I suspect we will not get any answers until the Trump administration takes over.
Even then, we have to hope that documentation has not been destroyed to cover up the Biden administration's endless failings.
