GOP Megadonors Flocking to Trump

When this campaign started, Donald Trump had virtually no big-money donors behind his campaign.

We all wondered what would happen if he won the nomination and Haley and DeSantis's big-money donors were put on the sidelines.

Well, that question has been answered.

Big Money Falls in Line

About two months ago, Donald Trump had a real money problem, but dare I say that is no longer the case.

It has taken a minute, but the big money for the Republican Party is starting to fall in line behind Trump.

This was not a given due to the divide that was created during the primary race, but it would appear that feelings have been put aside and everyone is now coming together for a bigger purpose, which is to remove Biden from office.

For instance, Billionaire Stephen Schwarzman, the CEO and co-founder of Blackstone, just announced that he and his $39 billion bank account will be supporting Trump during this election.

Billionaire Robert Mercer and his daughter, Rebekah Mercer, also recently backed Trump after sitting out most of the cycle. Both had supported Trump in 2016 but backed off in 2020.

Oil magnate Harold Hamm, the founder and chair of Continental Resources has been active, as has casino mogul Steve Wynn.

What has this meant for Trump? Well, for starters, he just had his biggest fundraising month of the cycle and finally outraised Joe Biden during a single month.

Trump is still way behind in cash on hand, but that deficit has been cut considerably, especially since Trump outraising Biden last month.

I am sure a huge chunk of Trump’s campaign funds will still be eaten by legal fees, but the delays in the Georgia election fraud case and the two Special Counsel Jack Smith cases are great news for the Trump campaign.

If they can keep those cases out of the courtroom, Trump’s campaign can focus on ad spending, rallies, and campaigning instead of lawyers’ fees.

With the big money consolidating around Trump, you better believe that Democrats are getting very nervous about Biden’s chances of beating Trump in November.
