GOP Going to Court in Battle Regarding Overseas Ballots

The GOP continues to fight the biggest avenues of fraud, at least in its eyes.

One of the biggest points of contention is overseas ballots being properly validated and counted.

Now, the Republicans are going to court to fight the process in key battleground states.

Make Sure They Are Legal

I have always been adamant that we do not have enough fraud to swing a general election.

However, some states have such tight margins that the fraud that does exist could swing a single state in a tight election and definitely impact local races.

For this reason, most states have very specific laws on what can and cannot be counted regarding absentee ballots, but Democrats managed to have most of these rules set aside in the 2020 election due to COVID.

Republicans are trying to make sure that does not happen again this time around, and they are dropping cases to ensure laws are followed as they are written.

The overseas contingent leans Democrats, and Democrats are mobilizing overseas to ensure every possible voter casts a ballot in this election.

Trump mentioned this in a recent post, stating, “The Democrats are talking about how they’re working so hard to get millions of votes from Americans living overseas. Actually, they are getting ready to CHEAT!”

Two of the states that have suits filed right now are Michigan and North Carolina.

The easiest path for Trump to win is to take a Blue Wall state, such as Michigan, then split Arizona and Nevada, as well as taking Georgia and North Carolina, so you can see why they are so focused on these two states ensuring a fair election.

In part, the complaint states, “Defendants’ disregard for the law creates an opportunity for inclusion of ineligible ballots such that the ultimate tally of the votes may not accurately reflect the legal results which could affect a close Congressional election — an injury to Plaintiffs.”

The DNC responded, “The Court cannot even reach the merits, because there are multiple threshold defects with the complaint that foreclose plaintiffs’ last-minute request to disenfranchise military and other Pennsylvania voters — and that make clear that this lawsuit is really an effort to sow public doubts about the election.”

Unfortunately for Trump and Republicans, in 2020, their efforts to ensure rules and laws were followed were interpreted as voter suppression, and they were defeated in most of their challenges.

It seems confusing to me why we would have specific laws and guidelines on what is acceptable and not acceptable for absentee ballots if judges are just going to look the other way when ballots do not meet the standard and should be disqualified.
