GOP Demands Hochul Remove Bragg After Attack on NYPD

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has found himself coming under attack again by Republicans.

The New York GOP is demanding that Bragg be removed as DA after the reported attack against two New York Police Officers by migrants.

The officers were attacked outside of Times Square by a gang of illegal immigrants.

New York City has seen an influx of more than 100,000 illegal immigrants over the last year.

While Mayor Adams will tell you that is because of Texas Governor Greg Abbott bussing them to New York City, that is an outright lie.

The overwhelming majority of them have come on their own or were brought to New York City via a deal that Adams had reached with a Democrat border mayor to take them.

Not surprisingly, crime is rising because of this, as many of these migrants are unable to find jobs, so they are resorting to crime.

After the attack took place against the officers, the NY GOP is demanding that the governor take action because of how Bragg has handled the situation.

State Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt sent a letter to Hochul that, in part, stated, "Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s unconscionable handling of the recent attack on two NYPD officers by a gang of migrants outside a Times Square shelter must be the final straw.

"The public safety of New Yorkers is clearly at risk.”

Bragg’s office responded, stating, "As the District Attorney and New York City Police Commissioner clearly stated this weekend, and as Mayor Adams echoed this week, we are working closely with the NYPD to make positive identifications, build our case, and hold those responsible accountable.

"Shootings and murders are down 38% and 23% in Manhattan since DA Bragg took office, and gun prosecutions are up 20%.

“We welcome collaboration with the signatories on public safety initiatives such as strengthening our hate and sex crimes laws and investing in mental health initiatives that would prevent crime and save lives."

The issue here is that the suspects were permitted to walk out of jail after being apprehended, released without bail, then flipping off the camera on the way out of the prison.

The letter concluded, “DA Bragg is failing at performing the basic duties of his position, and for the safety of all New Yorkers, you must remove him from the office of Manhattan District Attorney immediately.”

The fact that these suspects were released without bail after attacking officers just about sums up how Democrat prosecutors are treating criminals these days.

Bragg has to go… end of discussion.
