Goldman Sachs CEO Pours Water on Harris Economic Claims
During the debate, the moderators had no problem calling out Donald Trump when they thought he lied.
Yet, Harris told about 20 lies, and she was portrayed as a saint, but one lie just got exposed.
One of the experts she cited just spilled the beans on the VP.
Not So Fast
During the debate, Harris stated, "I am offering what I describe as an opportunity economy, and the best economists in our country, if not the world, have reviewed our relative plans for the future of America.
"What Goldman Sachs has said is that Donald Trump's plan would make the economy worse, mine would strengthen the economy."
That is not exactly the truth, according to Goldman Sachs CEP David Solomon.
He responded to her claims, stating, "So, that report, which was mentioned last night in the debate, came from an independent analyst, and it's interesting, Scott, I think a lot more has been made of this than should be.
"What the report did is it looked at a handful of policy issues that have been put out by both sides, and it tried to model their impact on GDP growth.
“The reason I say a bigger deal has been made of it is what it showed is the difference between the sets of policies that they've put forward is about two-tenths of 1%.”
He continued, "So, the economy grows, if you took these particular sets of policies they looked at — and by the way, we have no idea whether these policies, these things that are talked about, will ultimately be implemented — and what was the growth impact? And the differential was two-tenths of 1%.
"I think our clients are trying to look at what's going on from a policy perspective and make judgments. I think this blew up into something that's bigger than what it was intended to be.”
I could not help but laugh when I saw the CNN fact check, especially when the journalist claimed that no politician has lied on the scale of Donald Trump.
They counted 33 lies by Trump, several of which have since been proven to be true, and only one lie by Harris, but I was at 21 in my last check of the debate footage.
And let’s not forget Joe Biden, who lies every time he opens his mouth, but they like to make it seem like Trump is the only one stretching the truth.
If you guys recall, the one thing I pleaded for before the debate was for Trump to have his facts and numbers dead on because I knew the media would do this, and they did.
Fair or not, Trump needs to be better because anything he says that is even remotely exaggerated gets bent out of proportion by the media, and it only makes it worse when Harris can say whatever she wants without correction.
