Georgia Republican Endorsing Joe Biden Over Trump

And so it begins…

You just knew there were going to be defections among Republicans with a Trump nomination, and six months out, it is already starting.

Former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan (R) is among the first GOP defectors to say he will not support Trump but will instead pull the handle for Joe Biden.

His reason… he says Joe Biden is a “decent person.”

Here We Go

So, once again, it would appear that we have people that will vote personality over policy.

In making his endorsement of Biden, Duncan stated, “It’s disappointing to watch an increasing number of Republicans fall in line behind former president Donald Trump.”

He then added, “The GOP will never rebuild until we move on from the Trump era, leaving conservative (but not angry) Republicans like me no choice but to pull the lever for Biden. At the same time, we should work to elect GOP congressional majorities to block his second-term legislative agenda and provide a check and balance.”

Duncan concluded his op-ed in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, stating, “Unlike Trump, I’ve belonged to the GOP my entire life.

“This November, I am voting for a decent person I disagree with on policy over a criminal defendant without a moral compass.”

I find it rather amusing that he referred to Joe Biden as a “decent person,” as that is clearly not the case for anyone who has truly followed Biden’s career.

My opinion and this is strictly my opinion about Biden and has nothing to do with anyone else associated with this publication, is that Biden is a corrupt, racist politician who gets away with things for two reasons.

The first is that people genuinely feel sorry for Biden because of the personal losses he has suffered during his career.

Second, people write it off as “Joe being Joe,” when his actions and statements, were he a Republican, would have ended his career decades ago.

Biden has compared small black children to cockroaches, made racist statements about Indians, has been accused of rape, and his family was clearly cashing on in his influence, yet Duncan calls him a “decent man.”

I am far from saying that Trump is a saint and much of the criticism that Trump gets he brings upon himself, but please do not get on your high horse about Biden over Trump when we start talking about morality and ethics.

Get ready for more of this as the election gets closer because we are going to see the same opposition to Trump from within the party as we saw during the 2020 election cycle.
