Joe Biden must have done something to upset Attorney General Merrick Garland.
That is the only possible way to explain the appointment made by Garland to oversee the review of the classified documents that were found in Biden's office.
U.S. Attorney John Lausch will be leading the investigation.
Lausch is a Trump appointee that Biden actually tried to fire after taking office.
Trump appointed Lausch in 2017 and it was unanimously approved by the Senate.
Even so, simply because he was a Trump appointee, Biden was looking to remove him from his post after taking office.
As word got out that Biden wanted Lausch removed, both sides of the aisle pushed back, with Democrat Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin openly criticizing Biden for trying to remove him.
The two Senators released a joint statement that read, "While we agree with the Biden Administration's criminal justice agenda, we are disappointed with the decision to terminate U.S. Attorney Lausch without consulting us.
"In 2017, our non-partisan screening committee gave its support for Mr. Lausch to serve in this position, and the Senate confirmed him unanimously."
Illinois Republican Reps. Darin LaHood, Mary Miller and Rodney Davis also defended Lausch, bringing up the point that he had open investigations that needed to be concluded.
They stated that Lausch was "pursuing a historic and major public corruption investigation involving a years-long bribery scheme that has implicated former House Speaker Michael Madigan and others."
Now he is the attorney tasked with investigating possible wrongdoing by Joe Biden regarding the handling of these classified documents.
Special counsel to the White House, Richard Sauber, continues to push the narrative that nothing wrong was done here simply because the documents were not being requested by National Archives.
He stated, "Since that discovery, the President's personal attorneys have cooperated with the Archives and the Department of Justice in the process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives."
A level playing field, folks, that is all we are asking for here.
In the meantime, you better believe that Biden's people are going into every single inch of every space he has an office or a home to see if they can find anything else that Joe may have misplaced.
