Fox News-MSNBC marriage is off

It would appear that Fox Business host Liz Claman and her husband, who works for MSNBC, have split.

Claman has been married to MSNBC Managing Editor Jeff Kepnes for 24 years.

Viewers noticed that Claman did not have her wedding ring on during a recent show, and their split has since been confirmed.

They’re Done

Kepnes briefly worked for Fox News, but the majority of his career has been with CNN and MSNBC.

Prior to Brian Williams flying solo on Nightly News, Claman was a co-anchor with him.

Since joining Fox, she has landed some of the biggest names in the entrepreneurial world for interviews, such as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, which has earned her the nickname of “The CEO Whisperer.”

Claman and Kepnes were married in 1999, and share two children, a boy and a girl, both teenagers.

According to the report, the couple quietly separated in 2023.

A friend of the family told the media that the couple had drifted apart over the years, so they have now decided to move on.

I cannot help but wonder if the success of Fox News and the downfall of MSNBC played a role in how this marriage fell apart.

For instance, Fox is thriving, averaging more than three million viewers over the course of a month, while MSNBC is averaging barely over one million.

With Trump in office, Fox viewership is exploding again, up about 50% from last year, while MSNBC is continuing its dip, now down about 25% over last year.

MSNBC is also in the midst of a massive overhaul of its programming.

From earlier reports, Rachel Maddow was reportedly asked to take a pay cut to stay on the air, and her show is reportedly being gutted in terms of staffing.

The network has also cut controversial host Joy Reid, as well as two other minority hosts, which drew the ire of Maddow on air, who all but called the network racist for making these cuts.

For most of the last decade, these networks have been all opinion with very little actual news.

They are inventing narratives and blatantly lying about the GOP, and it has finally caught up with them.

They are now scrambling to make cuts and save money to keep their networks above water, but with all the lies that have been exposed over the last decade, I cannot imagine enough people will regain trust in the mainstream media to have all these networks to continue on air.
