Former Obama Adviser David Axelrod Not a Fan of Removing Trump from Ballot

Joe Biden seems to be a big fan of removing Donald Trump from the ballot for the 2024 election.

David Axelrod, a former Obama adviser, however, does not.

Axelrod believes this could be one of the most divisive things that could happen for the country as we head into the 2024 primary elections.

Divisive

I don’t know that this country has been united in decades, but the divisiveness became far more apparent during the presidency of Barack Obama, accelerated during the presidency of Donald Trump, and has gotten far worse with Joe Biden using the White House as part-time employment.

Ironically, Biden said that he ran, in part, to bring this country together, but all he has done since taking office is alienate conservatives by forcing through a hard-left agenda, executive orders, and circumventing Congress with loopholes.

The country is and has been teetering on the edge for years, with built-up frustration resulting in riots numerous times over the last few years.

We can point to the George Floyd riots, the riot at the Capitol, and now the Pro-Palestinian rioting that has taken place around the country.

And that does not even touch on abortion protests that have popped up or the threats against members on both sides of the aisle, as well as our Supreme Court justices.

Contrary to what some pundits push, we are nowhere near something as drastic as a Civil War from taking place, but these are tough and divisive times, and Axelrod believes it will be far worse if Trump is removed from the ballot.

He stated, "I have very, very strong reservations about all of this. I do think it would rip the country apart if he were actually prevented from running because tens of millions of people want to vote for him."

As far as he sees it, the only way to beat Donald Trump is in a fair and secure election, stating, "I think if you’re going to beat Donald Trump, you’re going to probably have to do it at the polls.”

The problem for Democrats, as we all know, is that every time they make a move against Trump, it backfires, with Trump’s polling numbers going through the roof after he was indicted.

Dems are playing the long game on that front, however, hoping that Trump walks into a felony guilty verdict, where his poll numbers absolutely collapse.

They may not even get that, however, because if the Supreme Court gives Trump presidential immunity regarding his pushback against the 2020 election results, it is game over for Jack Smith and Judge Chutkan, arguably the toughest judge that Trump will have to go in front for these federal indictments.
