Former DC Police Officer Convicted

Former Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Lt. Shane Lamond just got some bad news.

According to reports, Lamond was leaking information to the former Proud Boys national chair.

He has been convicted of obstruction and making false statements to federal law enforcement.

Can’t Do That

The ruling came down on Monday, sending a shock wave through MAGA world.

U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson announced the ruling, setting his sentencing date for April 3.

Lamond was reportedly working with Enrique Tarrio, the former national chair of the Proud Boys.

Tarrio is also in jail, having been found guilty of seditious conspiracy and other charges in 2023, and sentenced to 22 years.

U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves stated, “As proven at trial, Lamond turned his job on its head — providing confidential information to a source, rather than getting information from him — lied about the conduct, and obstructed an investigation into the source.

“The intelligence gathering role that Lamond was supposed to play is critical to keeping our community safe. His violation of the trust placed in him put our community more at risk and cannot be ignored.”

At the time this was taking place, Lamond was the supervisor of the Intelligence Branch of the MPD’s Homeland Security Bureau.

Both Tarrio and Lamond testified during the trial that no sensitive information ever changed hands, but the judge clearly did not buy the testimony.

The judge even stated during the trial that rather than Lamond using Tarrio as a source, “it was the other way around.”

Tarrio is one of the J6 defendants hoping that Trump will pardon him once he takes office. If Trump does, he is setting himself up for removal from office due to the nature of the charges against Tarrio.
