Former CBS Reporter Reveals How Network Killed Her Story

One of the few honest journalists in the mainstream media today is Catherine Herridge, formerly of CBS News.

Her integrity is actually believed to be the reason she was fired from CBS News in the first place.

Now Herridge has come forward to tell her story, as well as how a major story she had was killed by upper management when she was with CBS.

Kill It

One of the reasons many were so quick to believe the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian misinformation was because the only news outlet to report on it was the New York Post, a conservative-leaning mainstream media outlet.

That should not have been the case, according to Herridge.

While working for CBS News, Herridge was also putting together a story about the laptop, but she is now claiming the network killed the story just weeks before the 2020 election.

Herridge stated that she brought evidence to Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews, an executive at CBS News, and anchor Norah O’Donnell showing that the laptop contained information about “a million-dollar retainer from a Chinese energy firm.”

She further stated that the laptop contained texts and emails from Hunter Biden that were newsworthy.

Not long after she brought this information forward, “60 Minutes” Lesley Stahl claimed the laptop “couldn’t be verified” while doing an interview with Donald Trump before the election.

Herridge explained, “As I watched the broadcast, I felt sick. I knew the laptop records could be vetted and confirmed.”

She added, “I told Ciprian-Matthews the vetted materials included a million dollar retainer from a Chinese energy firm, emails with Hunter Biden’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski as well as Hunter Biden text messages.

“Asked by Ciprian-Matthews if there was a ‘Hunter connection,’ I responded, ‘Yes, all of them.'”

She went on to say that standard practices were not followed in this particular report, and the story was more or less killed at that point. The report itself did not actually finally air until November 2022, during the mid-term election cycle.

I would also note that O’Donnell was clearly anti-Trump at the time and remains so today, so it was no shocker that she never followed up on the story.

Yet, they were all more than happy to talk about the 51 former intelligence officers who never actually inspected the laptop, saying that it had all the signs of a Russian disinformation campaign.

State-run media… I will keep saying it until the message gets through to everyone. You simply cannot trust a single mainstream media news outlet today.
