Fetterman's top staffers resign
Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has turned out to be a pleasant surprise from a conservative standpoint.
He has been more than willing to work with Republicans on some key issues, Trump's nominees, and has fully backed Israel during its conflict with Hamas.
It now appears that several of his staffers have had enough of his moderate stance, and reports broke this week that two of his staffers have resigned.
Traitor
We have a significant problem in our political world today: everyone is turning into a hardliner.
Nobody wants to have an honest exchange or compromise, which is what this country was built on.
Today, you either fall in line with every policy of the party, or you are considered a traitor to the party or a RINO in the case of Republicans.
Everyone seems to forget that members of Congress are elected to represent their constituents, not the party or party leadership, be it a House or Senate leader or even the president.
To that point, Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director Tré Easton and Communications Director Charlie Hills have both resigned from Senator Fetterman's staff, and the rumors are that they quit because he has repeatedly worked with Republicans (that is not confirmed).
At least one of them, Easton, said all the right things walking out the door.
Easton stated, "Working for John afforded me the opportunity to build a diligent policy team from scratch.
"Together we created a legislative body of work that I think is a blueprint for how Democrats should be governing when they have power. I’ll forever be grateful."
This is not the first time that Fetterman has lost a staff member over his position, if that is, in fact, the reason these two left.
Fetterman's former communications chief, Carrie Adams, allegedly quit over his position on Israel, having told the media bluntly that she did not agree with his position on the war.
Adams went quietly, however, with no formal announcement... she just disappeared, but it was confirmed last month that she had moved on.
