Fetterman Willing to Confirm Dr. Oz… on One Condition
Donald Trump has chosen his old buddy Dr. Mehmet Oz as his Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) administrator.
Oz, if you recall, had been endorsed in the Senate race by Donald Trump, a race he eventually lost to Fetterman even though Fetterman was clearly struggling at the time from the aftereffects of a stroke.
Fetterman said that he is willing to confirm Oz for the position, but he wants one concession.
Just One…
For all the criticism that Fetterman took before the election, he has become a bit of a secret weapon for the GOP while in office.
Fetterman has stood tall against the liberal machine in DC, defending Israel without hesitation and calling out his fellow Democrats for their ridiculous rhetoric.
Of all people, it has been Fetterman telling Dems to pump the brakes on the Chicken Little attitude every time Trump opens up his mouth.
He has also been willing to listen to Republicans and actually seems like someone they can work with on more moderate issues.
To that point, Fetterman says he is all for Oz being confirmed, but he does have one condition.
Fetterman posted, "If Dr. Oz is about protecting and preserving Medicare and Medicaid, I’m voting for the dude.
"Our politics are obviously different, and we do have a history, but I don’t have any bitterness. I don’t hold anything against him.”
In nominating Oz for the position, Trump stated, "America is facing a Healthcare Crisis, and there may be no Physician more qualified and capable than Dr. Oz to Make America Healthy Again.
"Dr. Oz will work closely with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to take on the illness industrial complex, and all the horrible chronic diseases left in its wake."
Trump, as far as I know, has no intentions on cutting Medicare and Medicaid, although I do believe he will seek a way to revamp the programs so they are funded better.
That being the case, it looks like Dr. Oz should sail right through.
