Felony Charges Dropped Against Patrick Mahomes’ Brother, Jackson

I guess it really is all about who you know.

Jackson Mahomes, the brother of Kansas City Chiefs star QB, Patrick Mahomes, was just given a late Christmas gift by a Kansas judge.

Three felony charges were dropped against Mahomes, however, he will still have to face a misdemeanor battery charge.

Lucky Break

Jackson Mahomes made national headlines when he was charged with three felony aggravated sexual battery charges, as well as the misdemeanor charge mentioned above.

Mahomes had been accused of grabbing a woman by the throat and kissing her three times against her will.

According to the original report, the incident took place on February 25, 2023, at a local Kansas City restaurant.

There is video of the alleged assault, with Mahomes towering over the alleged victim, Ashton Vaughn, and you can see her trying to push him away each time he grabbed her.

Vaughn owns Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park.

In addition to Vaughn’s claim, there was also a waiter who claimed that Mahomes had shoved him.

Vaughn told police that Mahomes asked to speak to her privately, so they went down to her office.

The affidavit stated, “He then grabbed her by the throat, forcing her head back and kissed her and put his tongue in her mouth.”

After Mahomes left the office, Vaughn showed her neck to several staffers, all of whom confirmed the report.

Vaughn then claimed that Mahomes later returned to the office to get her to keep quiet about the incident, telling her “what he could do for her business,” boasting about his large social media following.

After the charges were filed, Mahomes’ attorney, Brandan Davies, stated, “Jackson has done nothing wrong. Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses.

“We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”

According to prosecutors, Vaughn had planned to exercise her Fifth Amendment rights if called in the case, which makes me think some kind of deal was worked out off the record.

That is pure speculation on my part, but that is the only conclusion I can come to after watching the surveillance video.
