Federal prosecutors step in to charge murderer after state attorney refused
Illinois State Attorney Kim Foxx has simply refused to do her job, so federal prosecutors have had to step in and do it for her.
Age 19 National Guardsman Chrys Carvajal was killed on Independence Day in 2021, but Kim Foxx refused to ever prosecute the people accused of killing him.
Law enforcement officers seemed to think that this was a pretty open-and-shut case.
After all, they had their suspect and all of the evidence that they felt they would need.
For some reason though, Foxx refused to prosecute those responsible.
She cited "insufficient evidence," an idea that seems completely ridiculous to the case's investigators.
There really wasn't much else to be done at that point, so nobody at the time was ever charged for the murder.
The terrible injustice could only stand for so long though, so federal prosecutors have had to step in to pursue justice where Foxx wouldn't do it, according to reports:
On Friday, the Chicago U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that they have charged two Milwaukee Kings gang members with racketeering and murder in connection with Carvajal’s death. One of the men charged is the same man Chicago police tried to charge with murder in 2021, according to a source.
Carvajal had stepped away from the family gathering to get something from his car around 1:20 a.m. on July 4, 2021, when someone shot and killed him in the 2200 block of North Lockwood, officials said at the time.
The following month, detectives asked prosecutors in Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx to charge a then-38-year-old high-ranking Milwaukee Kings gang member with murder, the report said.
Liberals have been utilizing a soft-on-crime approach for far too long, hoping to appease the unscrupulous in this country into voting for them.
It's not working, and it's making our country a lot less safe.
Just ask 19-year-old National Guardsman Chrys Carvajal.
