Federal Judge Blocks Obamacare for Undocumented Migrants

We finally have some common sense in our judiciary courtesy of District Judge Daniel Traynor.

This week, Traynor ruled against the Biden administration, deciding that their actions violate a federal law that "prohibits giving public benefits to people who lack legal immigration status."

This was going to be Biden’s last hurrah to protect some illegals regarding healthcare before Trump takes office.

Democrats have done everything they can to protect DACA recipients since Barack Obama started the program.

Biden and Harris were hoping to have an additional rule put in place that would have given some DACA recipients access to Obamacare, but that effort has been halted.

Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach (R) led the suit, which was also joined by Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Florida, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

After the ruling was handed down, Kobach stated, “This decision is a big win for the rule of law.”

He added, “Congress never intended that illegal aliens should receive Obamacare benefits. Indeed, two laws prohibit them from receiving such benefits. The Biden administration tried to break those laws. But we fought back and defeated the Biden Justice Department.”

Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) Executive Director Dale Wilcox also commented, stating, “This expansion of Obamacare to illegal aliens once again shows the Biden Administration’s contempt for the law.

“Like DACA itself, this expansion is a usurpation of power by an executive that opposes the will of the people as expressed in duly enacted laws, and arrogantly purports to rewrite the law itself.

“We are pleased the court saw how starkly unlawful Biden’s rule is, and struck it down.”

If illegals are added to health care coverage, it would cost Americans a minimum of an estimated $300 million annually, with some estimates ranging as high as $2.8 billion overall.

During his 2012 State of the Union address, Obama stated that illegals would not be covered under Obamacare. At the time, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) famously yelled out, “You lie!”

It took a few years, but Wilson was proven to be right, as Biden tried to get them coverage.

For now, this is a win, but we all know Biden will elevate this and hope to have it go before the Supreme Court before Donald Trump takes office.

Once Trump is sworn in, the lights go out on this lawsuit.
