FBI launches investigation into Comey ‘honeypot’ scheme
When the Trump campaign was being investigated for Russian collusion, reports surfaced that a “honeypot” sting operation has been launched to infiltrate the Trump campaign.
The allegations were made by a whistleblower who came forward after Trump took office.
According to the report, two undercover FBI agents were tasked to win over the hearts of Trump staffers to infiltrate the campaign for the investigation.

If you are not familiar with the term, “honeypot” refers to an operative that feigns romantic interest in a target to obtain information from them.
This is what the Chinese reportedly used against Rep. Swalwell (D-CA), activating an alleged Chinese spy, Fang Fang, to infiltrate his camp.
Reports are now surfacing that FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino are trying to locate the agents who were involved in the scheme.
This operation was reportedly not being conducted as part of Operation Crossfire Hurricane, which was the Russian collusion investigation, but in addition to it, apparently with the approval of then-FBI Director James Comey.
The whistleblower claimed to have firsthand knowledge that the operation had been launched specifically under the guidance of Comey.
The investigation did not have a specific target, but was considered a “fishing” expedition by the FBI at the time.
The whistleblower also claimed that Comey made sure to keep the investigation off the books, running it as a dark op so Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz would not see it.
The whistleblower claimed, “The FBI has multiple methods of protecting highly sensitive investigations, so Comey did not have a legitimate reason not to officially create an official investigation file or have a file number.”
The investigation was reportedly halted after a journalist had taken a picture of one of the agents while undercover.
The FBI reportedly told the journalist not to publish the picture because it was an undercover informant who would be killed if her identity were leaked. That “informant” was actually one of the undercover FBI agents, according to the whistleblower.
One of those two agents was then reportedly transferred to the CIA so as not to be available as a witness for the FBI.
This should all be easy enough to track because they have the timeline and need only look for agent transfers at the time.
If they can prove these allegations, it will once again bring into question whether Comey needs to be investigated or possibly charged.
We will keep an eye out for updates and report updates as needed on the investigation.
