The FBI used to be one of the most prestigious and respected governmental agencies, not just in America, but the entire world.
These days, it's a joke.
From protecting Joe Biden, to unfairly prosecuting Donald Trump, to labeling parents as domestic terrorists if they wanted to know what their child was being taught in school, America's FBI has completely destroyed the reputation it once had.
That's why Republicans on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies have advanced legislation that would reduce funding for the agency by a whopping one BILLION dollars.
The budget cut is estimated to constitute around 9% of what the FBI has been spending on a yearly basis.
The FBI's budget would decrease from $11.3 billion in 2023 to $10.3 billion in 2024 under the new plan.
Under this proposal, the FBI would also be forced to "conduct politically sensitive investigations under the oversight of a bipartisan group of Department of Justice staff while also forbidding the bureau from withholding the salaries of its whistleblowers."
Basically, it aims to get the corruption out of the FBI.
No wonder liberals wouldn't support it.
The new financial plan from Republicans comes after recent congressional testimony from FBI Director Christopher Wray that went a long way toward convincing everyone in America that we might never be able to trust the FBI ever again.
During his appearance, Wray refused to say whether the FBI had ever investigated any of the monstrous crimes allegedly committed by both Joe and Hunter Biden.
For some reason, instead of telling the truth and admitting that Joe and Hunter wanted to be protected, Wray has pretended that there's been no corruption going on inside the agency he leads.
We all know that's a lie. We would much rather have our leaders be honest with us. Wray isn't interested in serving the American people, though. He's interested in taking advantage of them instead.
