FBI Director Christopher Wray confirms he will resign
When Donald Trump nominated Kash Patel, it caught many Americans by surprise.
After all, current FBI Director Christopher Wray was still in place, and not really near the end of his ten-year term. Donald Trump knew who he wanted in the role though, and it looks as though he's going to get his way.
Christopher Wray announced he's retiring before the start of Donald Trump's term in January 2025.
Donald Trump, and a lot of other Americans as well, felt it was a "great day for America" when Wray made the announcement.
"The resignation of Christopher Wray is a great day for America as it will end the weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice," Trump told Fox News. "I just don’t know what happened to him."
It's clear that Donald Trump doesn't feel as if Christopher Wray in 2024 is the same man he nominated for the position back in 2017.
Back when Trump nominated Wray, he was full of praise for the man:
"I will be nominating Christopher A. Wray, a man of impeccable credentials, to be the new Director of the FBI. Details to follow," Donald Trump wrote on social media at the time.
Just a few years later, it's obvious Donald Trump feels very differently about Christopher Wray.
"Under the leadership of Christopher Wray, the FBI illegally raided my home, without cause, worked diligently on illegally impeaching and indicting me, and has done everything else to interfere with the success and future of America," Trump commented. "They have used their vast powers to threaten and destroy many innocent Americans, some of which will never be able to recover from what has been done to them."
This certainly isn't the only former Trump ally Donald is now battling, that list seems to get longer and longer every day.
Michael Cohen was Trump's trusted lawyer for twelve years, and now the two can't stand each other. Mike Pence served alongside Trump in the White House for four years, but Pence was NEVER considered to run alongside Trump again.
Trump is changing many of the faces around him for his second term in the White House.
Do you think these changes signal that Trump is eager to do whatever is necessary to make America great again? Or do they only represent Trump's constantly changing allegiances that could cause trouble in the future?
