On Friday, Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) discussed this document with Director Wray over the phone.
After that meeting, McCarthy stated that he was very confident that Wray understood the nature of the request and that the FBI would turn over the document in question related to bribery charges against Joe Biden, reported the New York Post.
McCarthy stated, "I explained to the director that we will do everything in our power, and we have the jurisdiction over the FBI, and we have the right to see this document. I believe after this call, we will get this document."
Well, something happened between then and now because when the unclassified FD-1023 was requested again, the FBI refused to turn it over. Either that, or Wray just wanted McCarthy to look foolish, and I vote for the latter.
Time for Charges
That document, according to a whistleblower that spoke with Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), contains all the information the GOP would need to open an investigation into Joe Biden.
With the FBI now holding the document "hostage," Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has stated that he is going to start to talk about holding back the FBI's budget until the agency turns over the document.
He stated, "They don't respect anyone in Congress.
"They've been able to get away with this for a long time. The media continues to turn a blind eye. The Senate Republicans continue to fund the FBI. Why would you change your business model when you're getting everything you want," reports Fox News.
Wray has been a clown show ever since Trump nominated him for this position.
This is far from the first time that he has mocked the GOP, and I highly doubt it will be the last.
Comer needs to stop playing games, and McCarthy needs to refer Wray to the DOJ for contempt of Congress.
It is time to expose Garland as Biden's protector or be able to hold Wray accountable. I am good with either outcome, but I would prefer Wray turn over that document so we can see if this whistleblower is blowing smoke or if we have hard evidence against Biden.
