Fans Looking for Justice for Peanut the Squirrel and Fred the Raccoon
This is honestly a report I cannot believe I am writing.
It shows just how ridiculous our government has become, especially with everything else that is going on right now.
To that point, internet sensation Peanut the Squirrel was seized and euthanized by local officials along with his buddy, Fred the Raccoon.
Nothing Better to Do?
The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) raided the home of Mark Longo for the purpose of capturing Peanut and Fred.
Now, as far as we know, and this comes from Longo himself, there were never any complaints filed regarding the rodents, and they have been living in his house for years with no problems.
Peanut has something like 500,000 followers on social media, and he was even the basis for a charitable foundation.
Yet, for some reason, New York authorities decided it was time to capture the rodents, claiming they were being kept illegally.
Both animals were euthanized by the state, with Longo stating, "It's not only torn my family apart, but Peanut was the cornerstone of our non-profit animal rescue.
"And 10 to 12 DEC officers raided my house as if I was a drug dealer. I sat outside my house for five hours. I had to get a police escort to my bathroom.
"I wasn't even allowed to feed my rescue horses breakfast or lunch. I sat there like a criminal after they interrogated my wife to check out her immigration status."
Longo added, "They got a search warrant. Four departments and a judge signed off on a search warrant for a squirrel and a raccoon. And then they took them and killed them.”
The owners of #Peanut the squirrel are going nuclear on government officials in New York, accusing the state of abusing power and wasting taxpayer funds to seize and kill their pet. Watch their full interview on @TMZLive here: https://t.co/1rXzVTABx1 pic.twitter.com/rtHpBOl14x

As an animal lover myself, I can feel for Longo and how devasting this must have been. However, the real issue here is that with all the problems going on in New York right now, why was the state so worried about Peanut and not all these other issues?
The squirrel was living in the house for years, with no issues at all, but they chose now to go after the squirrel.
I know New York is not in play, but I have to imagine this incident is not going to sit well with a lot of people who are on the fence.
While it may not help Trump with the state in terms of the electoral vote, it could help Trump with the popular vote.
And if Trump can win the electoral and popular vote, it would be a crushing blow to Democrats and likely end Harris’ political career.
