Fani Willis Ordered to Turn Over Communications
Fulton County DA Fani Willis has just been dealt a rather significant blow.
Since her case against Trump was announced, there has been speculation she was coordinating her case with the Department of Justice, more specifically with Special Counsel Jack Smith's office.
Now, she has been ordered to turn over her communications regarding the case to Judicial Watch.
Turn It Over
Trump, his attorneys, and his surrogates have been pushing this narrative from the outset, but it was more or less brushed off by the DOJ and Fani Willis’ office.
However, during a committee hearing, former prosecutor and Fani Willis' lover, Nathan Wade, admitted that there had been communications between the two offices.
Conservative watchdog, Judicial Watch, then filed suit to have all communications turned over to see exactly what coordination was taking place.
Things took a turn for the worse for Willis on Monday, when Fulton County Superior Judge Robert McBurney ordered Willis to turn over all communications with the Special Counsel's office.
He also stated that Willis had broken the law by not initially turning over these communications after the initial suit was filed.
Judicial Watch is basically taking up the efforts by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who had been investigating the alleged coordination between the DOJ, more specifically, Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office, and the Fulton County DA’s office.
When Jordan accused Willis of this prior, she responded, “Your attempt to invoke congressional authority to intrude upon and interfere with an active criminal case in Georgia is flagrantly at odds with the Constitution.”
If Willis is found to have been coordinating with the Special Counsel’s office, the Trump case will likely get tossed, but that could be only the beginning of the legal problems for Willis and Smith.
Fani Willis played fast and loose with the rules for far too long, and now she's being forced to answer for her actions.
It's about time.
