Before the Mar-a-Lago raid, Donald Trump was coasting along.
Since the raid, this favorability has started to crash.
Bad News for Trump
The new NBC News poll was not good for Trump.
A mere 34 percent of voters have a favorable opinion of Trump.
That is compared to a 54 percent unfavorable rating.
That is a considerable bump down from last month’s poll and among Trump’s lowest rankings since leaving office.
Trump was at negative 55 and 32 favorable in the April 2021 poll.
The negative 20-pt rating puts Trump way behind Governor DeSantis, who is at a net -2.
Trump’s camp keeps pointing to primary polls that have Trump easily winning the nomination.
This election is not about the nomination; it is about winning the 2024 presidential election.
The question is whether Trump can lure in the voters who abandoned the Republican Party in 2020 to vote Republican again in 2024.
If he cannot do that, simply put, we need to have someone else on the ballot to ensure we take the White House back.
