Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) is on her way out.
She lost her primary to Rep. Nadler (D-N.Y.), but she is back in the headlines.
A report has broken that she is now under an ethics investigation.
Corruption Runs Deep
Maloney is the chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee.
Now she is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee.
The committee has received a referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE).
This is an independent watchdog group.
After the news broke, the group stated, “The Committee notes that the mere fact of a referral or an extension, and the mandatory disclosure of such an extension and the name of the subject of the matter, does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee.”
A decision will be announced by November 21.
