Eric Trump Says Father Should Pardon Hunter Biden
This weekend, Eric Trump joined his father is agreeing that Hunter Biden should be pardoned if Donald Trump wins the White House.
He had some rather interesting reasoning behind this.
According to Eric, Hunter should be pardoned because we should not be going after the children or presidents for fear of not being able to attract good presidential candidates.
Give Him a Break
Eric appeared on Patric Bet-David's podcast to make his case.
When asked if his father should pardon Hunter, Eric replied, “I hope he does. Honestly, I hope he does. I’ve probably seen legal lawfare unlike anybody else in the history of this country.
“I’m the most subpoenaed person in the history of this country because they couldn’t get to my father through the executive branch. Guess what they did? They came after the guy who ran a company. Right. And I had 111 subpoenas.”
He concluded, “But despite that, I think we get in a very, very dangerous spot if we create a kind of a precipice where you just go after everybody’s children, their wives, their family, What’s going to end up actually happening in this country? It’s already happened.
“You’re not going to have any good candidates because everybody’s going to say, I’m not signing up for this crap. It’s not worth it. Right. So you’re going to end up dealing with mediocrity, which is exactly what we’re seeing with Kamala Harris.”
I reported on this last week when Trump brought it up and my opinion remains unchanged on the matter.
Trump was the one pushing for Hunter Biden to be investigated, but now all of a sudden we are reversing course since he has been found guilty.
First, pardoning Hunter Biden will not stop the Democrats from going after Trump.
Secondly, if Hunter gets off scot-free, what message does that send to the average American?
You can break the law if you are the child of a president without repercussion because a president’s son being in prison is supposedly bad for the country?
If you are talking about everyone being held to the rule of law, this is the complete opposite of that.
Sorry, but this is one decision I absolutely cannot support, and it is one that I think will cause significant problems for the Republican Party if Trump follows through with it.
