Eric Church Turns Over Part of Nashville Bar to Fans

Eric Church is giving back to his fans.

In an unprecedented move, Church gave individual deeds for bricks to his Nashville bar.

The deeds were turned over to fans who have supported him for his entire career.

Take a Piece

The new bar will be called Chiefs, complete with its own music venue.

In offering up the gift to his fans, Church stated, "You’ve helped me build my career brick by brick, and I want the whole world to know that the building is yours.

"This is not just another club downtown. This is our house.

“I’ve been involved in every step of restoring this historic building into a place we can call our own and, because you’ve been with me every step of my career, I’m proud to dedicate a physical brick of the Chief’s building to each and every one of you."

While it does not look like the lucky fans will be partaking in the profits of Chiefs, there are some pretty cool perks that will be received.

For instance, fans who have bricks will have priority entrance to the bar and access to unreleased demo records and video footage.

The bar itself will host Church performances as well as other acts, as well as a broadcasting studio for Church’s SiriusXM show, "Eric Church Outsiders Radio."

Church has pushed this “share” narrative with his music before, stating, "My songs are mine, until I release them, and then they're never mine again. And this building’s a lot that way.

"It’s been mine in the building of it, in the cultivating with the stories, the challenges, and the successes.

“But once Chief’s opens, it’s not mine anymore. It belongs to the Choir. It belongs to the fans. It belongs to the patrons. It belongs to the stories they create there. It belongs to the music they listen to there and share from there. So, my story ends where theirs begins and that’s the essence of what you do musically and what we’re trying to do at Chief’s."

Church’s career started in 2005, and he hit the ground running, with three Top 20 singles from his first album, and he has not looked back since.

The bar’s music venue will open on April 5 with a 19-show run by Church himself.
