ER physician describes experience of aiding man fatally shot at Trump rally

Former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

One of his supporters did not.

Two others were severely injured by the shooter.

As shots rang through the crowd, an emergency room doctor who was in attendance sprang into action.

He gave a statement to CBS News while still covered in blood.

What he had to say was truly horrifying.

He described the scene in great detail, saying he saw “brain matter.”

“I heard the shots. I thought it was firecrackers to begin with, somebody over there was screaming, he’s been shot. He’s been shot. So I made my way over. I said, I’m an emergency department physician. Let me help you. The guy had spun around, was jammed between the benches. We had a headshot here. There’s lots of blood,” the doctor said.

The doctor went on to say that chest compressions were given to the victim before saying he thinks the victim was taken to get treatment by helicopter.

This horrific shooting should have never happened, and we are heartbroken at the bloodshed at the rally.

We are relieved that former President Donald Trump emerged injured but alive, and we grieve for the family who lost their loved one that day.

We pray the injured attendees are able to make a swift recovery.

The shooter was gunned down in less than one minute after he began firing.

While the gunman has now been identified, the story is still expanding with every passing hour.

The motive of the crime has yet to be officially confirmed.

We cannot imagine the fear and horror that must have been felt by every single person at Trump’s rally the minute the gun began firing.

Please pray for the victims of this terrible tragedy, and for America in general. This nation needs its heart healed.
