It is not often a major sports star will wander away from the norm to endorse a candidate in a presidential election.
They either support the leading Democrat, or they are considered an outsider and are in danger of being canceled.
My guess is that Kelly Slater simply no longer cares what people think because he just stepped outside the box to support Robet F. Kennedy Jr. over Biden in the upcoming primary race, reported Yahoo!
My Guy
Kelly Slater is 51, so he is well past the age of caring what people think about him.
The surfing legend offered his two cents on the upcoming primary in the Democrat Party.
Slater made a social media post, offering a short clip of Kennedy speaking.
In the video, he stated, "I started taking drugs soon after my dad's death. I started when I was 15 years old. I didn't like being an addict. I wanted to stop, and that's when I picked up this book called Synchronicity by Carl Jung."
Slater captioned the video, "The kind of person I want as a President. Great message," reported Surfer.com.
An overview of the book which Kennedy referenced states, "To Jung, synchronicity is a meaningful coincidence in time, a psychic factor which is independent of space and time. This revolutionary concept of synchronicity both challenges and complements the physicist's classical view of casualty. It also forces us to a basic reconsideration of the meaning of chance, probability, coincidence and the singular events in our lives."
For those of you that are not surfing fans, there was no bigger name in surfing than Slater when he was competing.
Starting in 1992, he won 11 World Championships, his final one in 2008. He has 56 WSL Championship Tour wins. Slater is a three-time Triple Crown champion, winning it for the third time in 2019.
If you add all his wins and titles, he has 110 trophies on his mantel as well as being named into the Surfer's Hall of Fame.
I have to admit, one would think a surfer would fall more in line with the Biden agenda than the Kennedy agenda, so Slater is putting himself out there a bit.
The shame of it is that the DNC is already rigging the race for Biden, not sponsoring any debates, so Kennedy has little to no chance.
However, if he runs as a third-party candidate, it could become a major problem for Joe Biden.
