South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem Endorses Donald Trump

Donald Trump has landed another big endorsement.

This time, it was South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, reported Politico.

With Nikki Haley in the race and throwing some barbs at Trump, many believe this endorsement was the deciding factor in who Trump will pick as his VP.

The New Frontrunner

Noem gushed over Trump.

Trump had been invited to speak at the rally, with Noem stating, "All of them told us that they had better things to do. But when President Trump was invited to come be with you tonight, he said, 'I will be there.'"

She went on to say that Trump has her "full and complete endorsement."

Noem took a lot of heat on social media for endorsing Trump so early in the race, with the general belief that she did this to put herself as the frontrunner for VP on the GOP ticket if Trump wins the nomination.

Trump also gushed over Noem, calling her "one of the most successful governors in the entire nation" and "a warrior for American values."

Here is the thing, though…

Noem scores about 30 points lower than DeSantis on the Heritage Action scorecard, and Trump has slammed DeSantis as an utter failure during the pandemic.

This was a political move by Noem, as she clearly wants that VP position and she surely knows that Trump has already stated that he wants a woman on the ticket with him.

In addition to Nikki Haley and Noem, Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) are believed to be among the frontrunners.

There is also a chance that Trump could look to Governor Sarah Sanders, his former press secretary who recently won the election in Arkansas, but I think she would be foolish to walk away from Arkansas so early in her term.

If Sanders plays her cards right, she could make a run at the White House in about 10 years, so this would be a huge risk that could alienate voters against her in the next election.

I have always had Haley and Noem at the top of the list for potential Trump VPs, and I think Noem just took the lead.

That, of course, could change once Haley gets knocked out of the race if she throws her support behind Trump. But there is still the issue of the shots she has taken at Trump on the campaign trail.

Trump deems any resistance to him as disloyalty, so that could already be out of the cards for her.
