Elton John May No Longer Be Able to Perform

Elton John fans are in disbelief right now after the entertainment legend made a shock announcement this week.

John, 77, recently had an eye infection that turned out to be very serious.

In fact, John announced this week that it has been months since he has been able to see.

End of a Legendary Career?

John appeared on “Good Morning America” this week when he broke the news to fans.

He stated, "It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see, and my left eye is not the greatest.”

John continued, "There’s hope and encouragement that it’ll be OK, but I’m kind of stuck at the moment because I can do something like this, but going into the studio and recording, I don’t know.”

This is obviously a problem due to the fact that he cannot read lyrics.

"It kind of floored me. I can’t see anything. I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything."

John has an album that has been in the works for years, but it remains unfinished.

When he was asked if he would be completing that album, he stated, "I don't know. It's been a while since I've done anything and, well, I just have to get off my backside."

John first found out about the issue over the summer, leaving him with only limited vision.

He then stated that he spent most of the summer at home recuperating, but he is far from 100% even now.

John did stress, however, that he is trying to remain positive and will continue the healing process hoping for the best.

I have seen this man in concert numerous times, albeit decades ago, and there are few solo entertainers who can command the stage the way he does.

Get well soon, Elton. Your fans surely want to see you back out there again soon.
