Elon Musk Accuses Trump Impeachment Witness Alexander Vindman of Treason

Elon Musk took aim at retired Army Lt. Col Alexander Vindman, claiming that he had “committed treason” for accusing the billionaire entrepreneur of selling state secrets to Russia.

Vindman, who was a key witness in the impeachment case against Trump over a call the then-president had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, accused Musk of working for Russia without offering evidence.

This prompted Musk to hit back at Vindman by accusing him of treason for representing the interests of Ukrainian oligarchs over U.S. national interests.

Vindman claimed during an interview that, "Clearly, Putin has a type. He likes narcissists and egomaniacs that he knows as a case officer can easily pander to manipulate, to do his dirty work. Russia has been using different levers — whether that’s corruption networks, in this case, its influencers like Donald Trump, like Elon Musk, to kind of sow discord.”

That statement prompted Musk to hit back saying, "Vindman is on the payroll of Ukrainian oligarchs and has committed treason against the United States, for which he will pay the appropriate penalty."

Vindman in Trouble

Musk is one of the most powerful men in America now, thanks to his close relationship with President-elect Trump, who also has likely not forgotten Vindman.

Trump is determined to root out all deep state agents who are embedded in federal agencies, and Vindman is the poster boy for the sort of individuals the incoming president is targeting in order to ensure that his agenda isn't sabotaged a second time.

Vindman and others like him not only undermined Trump's plans during his first term, but they also tried to ruin his life after he left office, forcing him to spend the past four years battling multiple politically motivated indictments.

Now that Trump is poised for a second term, he has already promised to pursue accountability from those who wronged him, and that should terrify Vindman, especially now that he has been callout out personally by Musk.

Democrats are already coming to Vindman's defense, with Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) saying, "Message to Elon Musk -- The Vindman family embodies patriotism and public service. You know nothing about either."

It seems he feels that there is nothing more patriotic than selling out the United States in favor of Ukrainian interests while enabling a blatantly political pursuit of a sitting president.

Treason Charges

If Vindman were ever to face charges of treason, the penalties could be severe. Those convicted of treason can face the death penalty or decades in federal prison.

For Trump's allies, knowing that Vindman is terrified of what could follow now that Trump will be back in the White House must be reassuring. Trump and his allies have been the target of political indictments for years, and now the persecutors may become the persecuted.

The irony is that Democrats have already begun to complain about Trump's threats to punish his enemies, all while refusing to admit that the president-elect is simply playing by the rules that they already established.
